The Saharawi human rights activist Aminatou Haidar hailed on Wednesday in Boumerdes the "unwavering" support of the Algerian people and government for the Saharawi people's struggle for self-determination, saying that this support stems from the principles of the Algerian Revolution, which inspired many colonized peoples. Expressing her happiness for being in Algeria, Haidar said that the heroic struggle of the Algerian people for their freedom "is a model to follow", recalling the position of Algeria vis-à-vis the Saharawi refugees for more than 40 years. "We have a great respect for Algeria for its positions of principle and the reception of refugees. This is a historical position that participates in a human will that take into account the crimes committed against the Saharawi people," stated Haidar at the closing ceremony of the Summer School of the executives of the Frente POLISARIO and the Saharawi State held on 10-23 August in Boumerdes. She stressed that Algeria's support to the Saharawi people "has never ceased and has been shown in particular through the reception of pupils and students in Algerian schools and academies so that they contribute to the" development of Saharawi institutions." She also said that "the oppression in which Morocco is engaged will not dissuade the Saharawi people who are determined to continue their struggle for independence and freedom", denouncing at the same time the unjust sentences pronounced against the prisoners of Gdeim Izik group.

Italy Parliament receives Saharawi children

The Saharawi children of the 'Holiday in Peace' program who spend their holidays in Italy were welcomed by the Italian parliament on Wednesday.

The reception ceremony which took place in the Chamber and was chaired by the Vice-President of the Parliament, Marina Seregni, was attended by several legislators and media.

In her speech, the Vice-President expressed her "happiness for receiving the Saharawi cause in the seat of Parliament" and her "strong support for the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom", before adding that "Saharawi children deserve a future Better in their country, where they can live in peace, democracy and enjoy their natural resources. "

Mariana Seregni, said that "the Saharawi people deserve to have a democratic state, where human rights, tolerance, peaceful coexistence of cultures and religions prevail."

The deputy of the Italian parliament and a member of SADR's group of friends, Giuseppe Romanini, demanded that "pressure be placed on the Kingdom of Morocco and all those who support its occupation, so that the conflict is resolved in accordance with international law" .

The delegate of the Frente  POLISARIO in Italy, Ammih Omar, who was accompanied by the delegate in southern Italy, Fatimetu Sidialal, thanked the parliament for receiving and supporting the struggle of the Saharawis, while reminding that "Morocco violates human rights , Illegally condemns Saharawi activists, and loots natural resources.

Sahrawi students in Agadir renew their solidarity with Sahrawi political prisoners

 Sahrawi students at the Moroccan university site "Agadir" organized a march,  largest of its kind in five years. It included more than 140 Sahrawi students who gathered on Sunday evening in the university district, according to a media source from the occupied territories.

The demonstrators, who carried candles in their hands, chanted many political slogans, voicing their solidarity with the student group and all the Saharawi political prisoners, stressing that the recent sentences against the students aim to terrorize Sahrawi students and discredit their noble resistance.

The march was interrupted by Moroccan police force reflecting the occupation repressive policy against Sahrawi students in the Moroccan universities.

The Saharawi students in Agadir also expressed their solidarity with Sahrawi journalists, Bachir Jada, Mohammed al-Bambari, Saleh Labsir and all Saharawi political prisoners SPS

Pierre Galand denounces an attempt to present Western Sahara as Moroccan territory

The President of the European Coordination of Committees in support of the Saharawi people, Pierre Galand, protested Friday against the way French television channel France2 presented documentary "Morocco seen from the sky ", denouncing an attempt to make Western Sahara  as a Moroccan territory.

"I would like to express my total disapproval of the way in which your channel France 2 presented the documentary of Pascal Plisson and Ali Baddou, on 22 June 2017, in the evening: 'Morocco seen from the sky,'" he wrote in a letter to the French Television Mediator, Gora Patel.

Pierre Galand considered that even if the images captured by Yann Arthus-Bertrand are "superb", the channel should not "authorize" the diffusion of a so-called "documentary" which is not more than "a propaganda film of the Moroccan government that attempts to present Western Sahara as Moroccan territory, map and interventions of the supporting journalist ".

"In presenting this documentary, which is a partisan, you are helping to seriously harm the interests and rights of the Saharawi people," he warned, reminding the television channel that Western Sahara is a non-autonomous territory, occupied and colonized by Morocco.

Pierre Galand demanded the French television channel to broadcast a correction "on behalf of the right of viewers to correct information" as part of a program as well as on its web site. (SPS)

Moroccan court postpones trial of Gdeim Izik prisoners

 The Moroccan court has postponed the trial of the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik until June 5, according to a Sahrawi human rights source from the occupied territories.

According to the source, the court decided to postpone the judgment after two weeks of hearings that witnessed numerous violations of the right of the prisoners in a fair trial.

In view of the persistence of the court in the chapters of its farce, the prisoners and their defense announced their boycott of the trial sessions in protest against the manner in which the Moroccan authorities conducted the hearings
