Rejection of the UNMS repression against Sahrawi demonstrators in the occupied areas

Sahrawi women are witnessing with concern and indignation to the brutal carrying occupation forces Moroccans against Saharawi citizens in the manifestations of these days in the cities of El Aaiun, Smara and Dakhla, on the occasion of the visit of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the UN, Horest Kohler, who is on a tour of the area that has started on June 23. with the arrival to the occupied territories 28 until the 30 of June 2018. As it is becoming customary in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, the Sahrawi women demonstrating peacefully in the streets are beaten, threatened and beaten brutally, when they are not imprisoned or raped after being abandoned to the outside of their neighborhoods or cities. The demonstrations on the occasion of the visit of the Personal Envoy of the General Secretary of the UN or of different human rights rapporteurs are reason enough for the cruelty of the Moroccan security forces against protesters and especially against young people and women.

The National Union of Sahrawi women sympathizes with Sahrawi citizens who have undergone this brutal repression and especially with the younger (smaller) some Ayub in critical condition as a result of the abuse suffered at the hands of the occupation forces, and with our sisters in the cities of el Aaiun and Smara and express our strongest condemnation to this barbarity and injustice, that will not prevent the Saharan people to express their will to be free, or to their wives. We express our concern at the escalation of violence and demand the international community and the UN to bring an end to the occupation of our country, as the only measure capable of amending the injustice committed against our inalienable right to the self-determination, as well as respect for human rights and international law
