The National Secretariat of the POLISARIO has met this afternoon and in an official statement decrees a duel of 40 days of national mourning for the soul of the deceased.

According to article 49 of Internal by-laws of the F.Polisario and the Constitution , the President of the Sahrawi National Council took the post of Secretary General of the front and President of the RASD until the election of a new Secretary General in an extraordinary Congress shall be held within 40 days of the death of the President.
