The uprising of Zemla and the disappearance of the nationalist leader Bassiri marked an entire generation and showed the way forward to lead the fight for the freedom and independence of Western Sahara against Spanish colonialism and dignity. Today, June 17, 48 years later we are still waiting to know the whereabouts of the Sahrawi leader. The Sahrawi people remain faithful to their sacred cause, the principles of the Frente Polisario and their struggle for dignity and freedom.
