At the invitation of the Women's Union of Korea, the Secretary general of the National Union of Sahrawi women, Fátma Mehdi, as a member of the International Democratic Federation of Women

At the invitation of the Women's Union of Korea, the Secretary general of the National Union of Sahrawi women, Fátma Mehdi, as a member of the International Democratic Federation of Women held in the capital of North Korea, Piong Yonq from 16 to 23 AB Ril, with the presence of women's organizations representing several countries, including Russia, Greece, Italy, Pakistan, Venezuela, Mexico, Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal, as well as representatives at the level Continental and international, such as the international socialist organizations of International Women.


During the opening remarks, the president of the WIDF, Lorena Peña, insisted on the importance of continuing to work in order to achieve peace and justice in the world, in addition to expressing his condemnation of the oppression and lack of freedoms he experiences in today's world. With regard to Western Sahara, Lorena Peña has condemned the Morocco's illegal occupation of Western Sahara and expressed the solidarity of WIDF with Sahrawi women in their struggle for freedom and peace. It also expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian and Syrian people, Syria, as well as with countries in difficult circumstances.
The meeting focuses on the study of the work plan for the year 2018  2019 of the International Democratic Federation of Women at Continental and international level.
There will also be recommendations on solidarity work on various issues in the world.
