August 26, 2015 (SPS) - A delegation of the Basque organization “Askapena” held Tuesday a meeting with families of the Saharawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik, informed the Committee of the above-mentioned families.
The 4-hour meeting examined the situation of Saharawi political prisoners inside Moroccan jails, especially of which the group of Gdeim Izik.
It also focused on the difficulties faced by these families to have the chance to visit their imprisoned sons.
During the meeting, the delegation denounced the move by Moroccan police to expulse 5 Basque groups from the occupied territories of Western Sahara in August 22, 2015.
Last year, noted Askapena, Moroccan forces expelled three groups of international sympathizers, who entered the occupied Western Sahara to inquire about human rights situation
