Executive members of the National Union of Saharawi women
meet with a delegation of representatives of the Socialist Party in the
European Union, chaired by Mr. Pier Antonio Panzeri, president of the
Commission of the Maghreb and the Group of the Alliance of Soliacistas and
Democrats in the European Parliament.
MEP delegation is accompanied by Mohamed Sidati, member of
the National Secretariat of the Polisario and minister in charge of relations
with Europe. The meeting between the UNMS and the MEP delegation reviewed the
latest developments on the Saharawi question and the leadership role played by
women in the camps as well as the demands of the Saharawi women stressing the
need to activate the role of the European Union and governments to exert
pressure on the Moroccan government to comply with the agreements
International, in addition to end support to Morocco in
plundering the natural resources of Western Sahara, demanding that the issue of
respect for human rights is one of the priorities of the European Parliament.
At this meeting, held at the headquarters of the UNMS, other
issues such as the role of women in Sahrawi liberation and construction were
also discussed.
